The owner of the company that built the Ronesans Rezidans residential complex that collapsed during the earthquake was detained in Istanbul
Mehmet Yasar Coskun, the owner of the Antis Yap? company, which built the Ronesans Rezidans residence that collapsed in Hatay, 5 days after the devastating earthquake decided to escape from Turkey to Montenegro.
Back in 2012, the 12-storey Renaissance residence with 250 apartments, located on Inonu Boulevard in the Antakya district of Hatay, was considered one of the most elite residential complexes in the city. The cost of apartments started from 1.5 million lire.
The developer convinced buyers that the building could withstand even a 9-magnitude earthquake and called his building "Heavenly Square". But, as practice has shown, already with a jolt of 7.7 points, the high-rise building instantly folded like a house of cards, burying about a thousand people under the rubble.
The owner of the company that built this residential complex realized that the time would come and the authorities would have several uncomfortable questions for him. And so I decided to make a trip to Montenegro, taking with me a large sum of money. That's just a "business trip" broke at the airport in Istanbul.
Coskun was detained while trying to board the plane by order of the Gaziosmanpasha prosecutor's office, he was taken into custody and taken to the police station.
While rescue work is underway in the area of the collapsed building, a drone took several aerial shots of the wreckage of the residence. The received frames show that the building was overturned in the direction of the area where the pool is located as a result of tremors and damaged another building on the street.
At the moment, the number of victims of earthquakes in Turkey has reached 20,665. The list of the wounded includes more than 80,000 people.
