Rescuers in Kazakhstan were looking for a family missing in a snowstorm, and found 93 people under the snow
On January 3, rescuers were looking for a family of seven who disappeared in the mountains of the Almaty region, and found about a hundred people who had been sitting in cars for several days due to a strong snowstorm and avalanches.
On January 2, a family of 7 people (2 women, 4 men and a child) drove out of Almaty in two cars towards the Asy plateau and did not return home. Their relatives sounded the alarm, especially since a snowstorm began in the region, and the travelers went to the mountains, despite the warning of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. To search for the missing, they assigned an operational-rescue squad equipped with all-terrain vehicles. A drone was also involved. Thanks to the technology, rescuers found 40 cars on the territory of the Bartogay reservoir. There were 93 people in them - among them was the wanted family.
Emergency services began a rescue operation that lasted about three days. Due to a strong snowstorm, the cars got stuck in the snow, and almost every car had to be towed separately. The situation was complicated by three avalanches that hit the road on the morning of January 5.
Fortunately, all the people survived and the evacuation was successful.
Meanwhile, the deterioration of weather conditions is observed in several regions of Kazakhstan at once. And rescuers are still looking for several people who disappeared in bad weather.
