Brazil football confederation faces million dollar fine for cat
The World Championship is coming to an end, but the story about the cat that was dared to be thrown off the table during the conference, it turns out, is only gaining momentum.
During a press conference with national team forward Vinicius Junior, the attache took the cat by the scruff of the neck and threw it off the table. All this act was condemned, the Brazilian national team safely lost to the Croats. And that was supposed to be the end of it, but no.
A group of Brazilian non-governmental organizations, together with the Brazilian National Animal Welfare and Defense Forum, intervened. They filed a lawsuit against the Brazilian Football Confederation (CFB) for one million reais ($200,000).
Although the woolen one was not injured, justice will still prevail. In addition to the fine, the CFB is required to make a public apology and organize a program to train workers in environmental protection and animal care.
