Video games have incredibly realistic graphics, but still it is difficult to accurately convey the feeling of driving a real four-wheeler car without leaving our rooms. A car enthusiast from Poland found solution to this problem.
The project began with a humble Logitech G29 steering wheel and continued with the addition of many automotive parts, gradually embodying the owner's vision of safe driving without restrictions from the comfort of your own home.
The cockpit is inherited from the Alfa Romeo 159/Brera, including most instrument panel complete with instrument cluster, ventilation holes and the entire center console. Dials, acoustics and organs controls are illuminated and the corresponding orange lights on aluminum pedals create an atmosphere in the dark. It was also fit a real driver's seat.
The centerpiece is the multifunction steering a wheel borrowed from the Alfa Romeo Giulia, with some modifications, to make him compatible with his new role. As finishing touch, the exposed panels of the resulting installation are covered upholstery.
Pedals, steering wheel and shift knob completely functional in the game. Like the Logitech G29 that was the starting point project, the whole installation is compatible with PC and Playstation. However, amateur Alfa Romeo plans to make sure that the performance on the real instrument clusters matched virtual machine dials when races.
