A herd of elephants came to a village near the Indian city of Korba, state of Chhattisgarh to take revenge on people for killing a one-year-old elephant. It is reported by Newsweek. 
44 elephants entered one of the villages and trampled Pitawar Singh, who tended the cattle. As a result, the man died. In addition, within two days, the herd damaged almost nine hectares of plantings.
At the farm, local authorities found the body of a baby elephant that had been buried and covered with leaves. The farm owner was arrested. unknown whether he was directly related to the killing of the baby elephant.
“Without a doubt, the herd committed a punitive act against the man who killed their baby elephant. They were looking for him or those who were near people to take revenge, ”said the lawyer and founder Asian Elephant Charitable Foundation Duncan McNair.
McNair emphasized that elephants are incredibly smart and have a good memory. According to him, the incident shows that elephants have developed the instinct to protect the younger generation and loyalty to others herd members.
