The dog got stuck over a cliff and dug himself a cave (5 photos)
Brandon Fox thought he was going to have a great weekend skiing and enjoying the beauty of the snow slopes in Berthoud Pass, Colorado. But he never expected that his journey would turn into a rescue operation for his own pet!
The fact is that Brandon took his dog Yoshi along with him on the trip. The dog was very keen on a walk along the snowy slopes and, probably, that’s why he so quickly separated from his owner and disappeared somewhere on a huge rock.
When the owner realized that his priceless friend was lost, he was simply in despair. And when he came to his senses, Yoshi suddenly found himself more than a hundred feet shorter than Brandon!
The helpless man could only watch from above and pray for his pet, who was standing right on the edge of the cliff.
“It’s very difficult to look at a dog standing over a cliff and helplessly looking up at you. I thought then: “Baby, it’s impossible to get you out of there. Sorry...” Brandon says.
All this happened on Saturday evening. The guy immediately called rescuers, who together with him for three hours tried to get to the dog from different directions. But experts soon began warning people about the high likelihood of an avalanche, so people continued their rescue operation on Sunday morning.
This time, help came completely unexpectedly: two experienced climbers, who accidentally learned about what had happened, offered their help to get the dog.
Brandon was overjoyed: “They came out of nowhere and looked me in the face. After calculating several routes in their minds, they said, “Okay, we'll go get our things.” They didn’t even think about whether it was necessary to do this, they just went and that’s it!”
After this, two brave climbers rescued Yoshi! All this time the dog bravely fought for his life: as it turned out, he dug a small cave in the snow in order to have at least some kind of shelter.
Thanks to the help of selfless guys, the dog is now safe and will soon be able to forget about the failed adventure!
