A selection of cats that were forced to take a swim

7 February 2018

We all know that most cats hate water, but few people think about the reasons. Scientists find the following explanation for this fact: the banal instinct of self-preservation is to blame. The fact is that air is formed between the fur and skin of animals, which has thermal insulating properties. A wet animal is instinctively afraid of freezing. In addition, if the wool gets wet, it will begin to emit a strong odor, which is very undesirable when hunting.

All these arguments seem very convincing... But what about those representatives of the cat family who are not only not afraid of water, but also willingly swim? Do they really have no instinct of self-preservation? Hard to say. But in any case, watching both one and the other is very exciting.

Still, cats and water are a very funny combination! It’s scary to even imagine how boring our lives would be without our little brothers. Share this post with your friends and give them a good mood!
