A flock of snipes hunts for food near the shore, throwing themselves onto the sand when the wave recedes. One small chick decides to join the flock, but fails to retreat in time, resulting in the baby being covered by a wave.
The adventure scared the chick so much that it decided not to leave its large native nest. But noticing nearby crayfish, which, looking for food, were burying themselves in the sand to protect themselves from the waves, the bird tried to copy their behavior. This is how she learned about the underwater world and learned to get food not only for herself, but for the entire flock.
