Left his wife at a gas station and drove 300 km: the feat of an absent-minded husband (4 photos)

A leisurely family vacation is underway. The car is racing through the French expanses, the daughter is sleeping peacefully in the back seat, and the wife... Where is the wife, actually? It turns out that she was left at a gas station near Orleans 300 km ago!

Imagine a classic road situation: a family is going on vacation, the car is filling up, the wife goes to the toilet, and the husband... safely drives away, not even noticing the loss of a combat unit. The most surprising moment is that the daughter, who was sleeping peacefully in the back seat, also did not immediately realize that her mother had disappeared from the car (apparently inheriting her father's attentiveness).

But the daughter can also be understood, the clock said 4:30 in the morning.

As a result, the Parisian drove a whole 320 km - that's like from Moscow to Tver! - before he realized that his other half was somewhere in the Orleans area, probably with eyes wide with amazement and a phone in her trembling hands. As the investigation showed, the culprit was the perfect combination: male absent-mindedness, his daughter's deep sleep, and, apparently, his wife's too quiet voice.

The operation "Save my wife!" unfolded with true French drama. When the daughter finally woke up and asked the fateful "Where's mom?", our hero at first thought it was a joke, because he was a family man, not the type to forget his wife anywhere! But after a thorough check of the interior, he had to admit: yes, he had safely left his wife somewhere in central France.

Around 8:30 am on Saturday, July 5, the Landes Department Road Safety Department (EDSR) received a rather unusual call. The man said in a halting voice that he had left his wife at a gas station, without remembering exactly where or when, on his way from Paris to Morocco. "We received this rather strange call at around 8:30 a.m. The man no longer remembered where or when he had stopped," said the gendarmes from the EDSR Landes.

The police immediately checked all the motorway service areas in the area, but found no trace of the 62-year-old woman. They had to look up CCTV footage, and the investigation was complicated by the fact that the car often stopped along the way. Fortunately, they called other police departments and found out that the woman had called the police herself and reported that her husband had shamelessly abandoned her.

Why she didn't get through to her husband, the story is silent. The lost wife was safely returned to the family. I wonder how the man explained his absent-mindedness to his wife when they were reunited?

That moment when he just wanted to enjoy the ride in silence.
