The enclosure contained an animal that could easily be mistaken for a seal (or even a walrus), but the sign said it was a black leopard (or panther). But this leopard had grown so fat that it barely resembled its graceful brethren. Akmal posted footage of the animal online, and users both pitied the overfed wild cat and lashed out at the zoo staff.
Well, these staff responded to the criticism by saying that their charge, named Apokh, had indeed gained a little extra weight. But there was no need to worry, because the leopard was being looked after by veterinarians who monitored his health and helped him lose weight.
