A man saved a small animal without even knowing who he was (8 photos)
An absolutely unexpected discovery awaited this man when he was once again walking near such a familiar wasteland near his house. Right on the path, he found a creature of indeterminate species and gender, and therefore immediately christened it “It.”
The little animal did not even try to resist, because it was difficult to move. On the warm hand, “it” quickly fell asleep, so there was nothing left to do but take this little ball of fur home.
“What should I do with him?” Victor asked himself, because he didn’t even really understand who exactly he was bringing home. He assumed it was either a weasel or some kind of ferret, but he didn’t know for sure.
At home, the man’s main task was to feed the child, even if it was unclear what type of creature it was.
“It” tried to pounce on pieces of fried cod flesh, but it didn’t work well. The owner still managed to give the baby milk from a pipette.
“And literally five minutes later, “It” began to show signs of life, staggering along the bottom of the bucket, reaching out and making plaintive sounds. Obviously, I guessed right: the child was completely dehydrated.”
After feeding the baby again before bedtime, Victor went to bed.
The milk apparently helped and the next morning the animal was already running: ““It” became stronger to such an extent that it began to recognize people, that is, me, and grabbed all the fingers in turn, clearly intending to finish them off, as if it were a poisonous viper “.
When the dog appeared, “it” began to scream furiously, clearly calling for some parent. And when the nose approached the baby’s head, he fell silent and tried to find something from which milk could appear.
“And now, “It” is sitting in a bucket, at my table, and I don’t know who “It” is and what to do with it?“
But in the meantime, the baby continued to live at the man’s house: ““It” not only survived, but also became noticeably more active. “It would eat a piece of raw lean pork or a chicken breast the size of its head without leaving a trace, and then go into hibernation for half a day, curling up into a ball and ignoring everyone and everything.”
Swiftness and grace appeared in the cub's movements. His temporary home was a 40-liter enamel pot, at the bottom of which they tried to reproduce the landscape of the forest-steppe of the middle zone with a house in the form of a box from under some trinket.
Next to the house they dug a drinking bowl - a feeding trough - into the sand. The children really liked the animal. They simply fed it from a pipette one at a time until “It” fell asleep “on the spot.”
Then the girls took him in their arms and ran around the house with him.
But one morning, when asked to nurse the child in his arms in order to domesticate him faster, Victor unexpectedly received a polite refusal.
The tone of both daughters showed a noticeable cooling of interest in the fun that had appeared. It turns out that after another hearty feeding, the little animal, comfortably nestled on the child’s arm, forgot or did not have time to ask to go to the toilet, which greatly offended both girls.
In a word, the whole family got used to the baby who lived in their home. Gradually, the weasel (as the owners determined the type of animal) grew and learned to hunt mice, and this was very useful in a large private house where there were a lot of mice.
Then the weasel began to run out into the street and appear at home less and less often. The owners already thought that the animal had left them and again began to place mousetraps around the house.
But more recently, mice caught in a mousetrap became bitten by someone. If this is not a hungry rat, which is unlikely given the autumn abundance of food in a private home and garden, then this means it is a weasel?
Victor already misses his friend and hopes that he will still be able to see him: “If in the future we manage to maintain this fragile balance between the wild animal and the inhabitants of our home, I will be very happy about it.”
So suddenly Victor made a new friend, whom he helped survive and get stronger...
