A cyclist bet that he would overtake a Ferrari driver. Everyone laughed at him, but wait until the end of the haul! (5 photos)
When talking about high-speed means of transportation, we are unlikely to remember the bicycle. But the Frenchman
François Gissy decided to correct this historical injustice. He designed a special bicycle, on which he was able to set a speed record, accelerating to 333 kilometers per hour.
The previous achievement for bicycles with engines was 268 kilometers per hour and was established back in 1985.
The record race took place at a race track in the south of France. The cyclist reached the desired speed in 4.8 seconds. The Ferrari racing car that confronted Francois looked like a real turtle against his background.
To achieve this result, Francois installed a jet engine on his bicycle. This engine uses concentrated 90% hydrogen peroxide as fuel, which, under the influence of a silver catalyst, rapidly decomposes into water and oxygen, which creates very high pressure in the engine chamber.
It’s interesting that Francois’s unit still has pedals installed. Otherwise, this design could not be called a bicycle. Moreover, the man periodically moves, pedaling, but only when he is not in a hurry.
We can only hope that Francois will stop there, because falling at such a speed is unlikely to result in a slight fright...
