How military equipment should not die (74 photos)
During the Cold War, a huge amount of military equipment was created in the vastness of our homeland. Fortunately, a global war did not happen, but the equipment remained. And every year the machines and equipment became outdated and simply broke down. Ultimately, the equipment was dismantled or preserved. I don’t know for what reasons, but sometimes large bases with such equipment simply stopped functioning, or they do it very sluggishly, and time is not kind to equipment and technology. This post will contain photographs from one such base; it is very large and it was not possible to get around it in one day, so the post will be divided into two parts.
1. Surprisingly, getting into the territory turned out to be elementary; the towers along the perimeter were empty, and there was no fence in some places. On the second and third perimeter, the alarm system apparently went off last winter when trees fell on it.
2. There was deathly silence and after walking a little through the forest I already found myself in front of abandoned equipment.
3. Equipment is scattered chaotically, here and there various machines flash in the bushes.
4.
5. Some copies were partially disassembled.
6.
7. Along the edges of the base, the equipment is in poor condition.
8.
9. “Dead” ZIL.
10. After taking photographs from the edge and making sure that there were no people, it was decided to go deeper. It was difficult to walk through the forest; there was metal rubbish and parts lying everywhere. And then very old railway tracks were found in the forest.
11. Then I stomped along the railway tracks, because they must lead somewhere, in the forest I constantly came across “dead bodies” of cars.

14. Creativity of military personnel.
15. And finally the railway tracks led to the station. When I saw the tap, I couldn’t resist visiting it.
16. Here you can clearly see the scale of the “graveyard” of equipment. It is worth noting that only a small part is visible here.

20. I wonder who crumpled their roofs.
21.
22. And this one did not crawl to his little “herd”.
23.
24. It became boring from above and it’s time to get into the equipment itself. Some vans were sealed, but some were open. I didn't break the fillings.
25. Antenna in action.
26. A dismantled antenna was lying nearby.
27. Inside you can see that the equipment is well preserved.
28. Toy for adults.
29. The documents are also in place.
thirty.
31. A box with something.
32. What is this I don’t know.
32.
33. The next van is almost the same.
34.
35. A slide of tanks.
36. The kungs are not empty either. They contain various equipment.
37.
38. In addition to the Urals and ZILs, there were also “loaves”.
39.

41.
42. In some places the equipment lay very densely, and we had to either move under it or along it.
43.
44. This one is already very bad, apparently he has been standing here for a very long time.
45.
46.
47. It’s already getting dark, but there are still no people.
48. TA-57
49. Among the equipment there was an armored personnel carrier. We'll get into it later. Before it gets completely dark, we need to take some photos outside.

53. There is a star on the steering wheel, you can’t do without it.

57. Time to climb into the armored personnel carriers.
58. Driver's seat. In general, the armored personnel carrier was very cramped; it was very difficult to take photographs. In addition, it was filled with various instruments for the crew.
59. Tank periscope, an interesting thing. There are many holes for it in the armored personnel carrier.
60. There are also many optical systems.
61.
62.
63. By twisting and pressing the buttons, I made the equipment buzz unpleasantly.
64. Non-lifting tripods.
65.
66. Another "URAL".
67. It was almost empty inside, but there was something in the boxes almost everywhere.
68. For example, there is another box in the box, but it was already empty.
69. Typical replacement elements. They dated back to 1990.
70.
71. And the forest is also mushroom.
72. To be continued.
