Excursion on the Ukrainian train.
Externally, the new cars differ little from the old ones, but each compartment has air conditioning, 220 volt sockets, toilet vacancy indicators, touch buttons for adjusting the light level, calling the conductor and an alarm button. If you close the doors with a lock and press it, then if someone from outside tries to open the doors, the lights in the compartment will turn on and a sound signal will sound - a handy thing against night thieves.
Since this entire system is Ukrainian-made, by design it strives not to Europe at all, but back to the USSR, and the socket is also located not near the table, where it belongs, but above the door, which is inconvenient:
The carriages are regularly walked around by the head of the train, whom the conductors are very afraid of. There was such a case: at one of the stops, a man came into our compartment who had a ticket for my seat, but only for tomorrow’s date; obviously, he celebrated March 8th too actively and boarded the train on the wrong day. So the conductor simply grabbed her head when she saw this and shouted: “Now the train chief will make his rounds!” Yes, if he sees that I have a “hare”, I’m finished!”, threatening to call the police, she began to demand that the man get off at the next station. However, everything ended well and did not lead to insanity; they found a free seat for the man, and he moved on.
The light bulbs in the compartment, unlike in old carriages, can be turned.
And on the top shelves there are special things to prevent you from falling from there:
The bed linen here is completely homemade; there is no question of it being damp or poorly washed.
Even outwardly it is not at all the same as in the old trains.
The corridor of the carriage, on the contrary, cannot be called homely.
For comparison, the corridor of an old-style carriage, warm colors are much more pleasant and cozy.
The dry toilets are the same as in European trains, with air aroma, touch buttons, individually illuminated mirrors and sparkling cleanliness.
In the corridor, an electronic board displays the time of stops, and along the way, an online store of household appliances in Donetsk was advertised.
Just out of curiosity, I recently took a ride in a new reserved seat carriage.
