Sydney Sweeney Revealed to Be Related to Marilyn Monroe (3 photos)

Genealogists at MyHeritage have uncovered an unexpected connection between a modern screen star and a classic Hollywood icon: Sydney Sweeney and Marilyn Monroe are ninth cousins once removed.

The family link comes through their paternal lines: Sydney’s father, Steven Sweeney, and Marilyn’s biological father, Charles Stanley Gifford, both trace their lineage back to a common ancestor, Ezra Perry. Perry was among the early settlers of Sandwich, Massachusetts, living in the 17th century until his death in 1689.
