Chihuahua named Commando enlisted in the Mexican National Guard
Meet the most unusual member of the Mexican National Guard — a Chihuahua named Commando. He has his own tactical vest, goggles, and even a small video camera.
Previously, the dog lived with an elderly couple in the state of Chihuahua. The couple handed him over to the military because it became difficult for them to care for him. After that, Commando's life took a dramatic turn: he was enlisted in the National Guard.
The four-legged recruit is very different from his fellow members in the canine unit. The unit counts 350 animals, and they are all quite large — German Shepherds, Malinois, Labradors, and so on.
Due to his size, Commando won't be able to pursue and detain offenders. However, he is being trained for search and rescue operations. And right now, he has already become a kind of goodwill ambassador.
