A teenager set a record for solving a Rubik's Cube with one hand
A 13-year-old Chinese schoolboy has become the first person to break the seven-second barrier for average 3x3x3 Rubik's Cube one-handed solve time.
Chen Zhen from China became the first person to achieve an average time of under 7 seconds in the 3x3x3 Rubik's Cube one-handed discipline.
At the Wuhu Open 2026 tournament in Anhui Province, he recorded an average time of 6.99 seconds, setting a world record. His five attempts were 7.27, 7.07, 6.12, 9.48, and 6.64 seconds—the best and worst results are not counted when calculating the average.
