This is how they're filming women's athletics competitions now

Footage shared online shows what broadcasts of women's athletics competitions have looked like recently. Sports broadcast camera operators have been banned from focusing on specific parts of female athletes' bodies. Now viewers can expect fewer close-ups and interesting shots.

Camera operators constantly keep the camera above the athletes' waists and make sure that nothing unwanted catches the lens when an athlete suddenly changes position. The changes are linked to new guidelines from the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and European Athletics. According to them, camera operators must not take lingering close-ups of female athletes' lower bodies, use slow-motion replays, or generally focus attention on the female body.
