China set a world railway record. An experimental maglev train accelerated to 800 km/h. The test was conducted at a special testing ground in the Donghu Laboratory, located in Hubei Province.

The Chinese high-speed train broke a world record, accelerating from 0 to 800 km/h in 5.3 seconds. The record was made possible by the magnetic cushion used by the vehicle—it slightly lifts the train above the tracks, eliminating friction, while a magnetic wave propels the train forward.

In addition to speed, the vehicle also demonstrated good braking performance—the new system smoothly stopped the train in just 200 meters.

This achievement marks the third record for this type of transport in recent months. In June 2025, the train reached a speed of 650 km/h in 7.1 seconds, and in July, the figure was raised to 700 km/h.

While the technology is not yet used for passenger service, in the future it could be implemented for ultra-high-speed trains, as well as space launch rockets and fighter jets.
