An internet user created a "live" game board for a tabletop game—the figures move across it on their own, without player involvement.

An enthusiast created a hybrid board game with a "live" game board.

It is called Vestiges of the Ancients and is a cooperative fantasy adventure featuring dungeon crawling, battles, puzzles, and ability cards.

The main feature is the game board itself. Here, physical miniatures move automatically thanks to a hidden CoreXY mechanism with magnets, while an app manages the narrative, enemies, and game events. Actions are performed using cards that are swiped over a reader.
A fully working prototype is already ready. The creator plans to launch mass production in the near future.
