TV drains your brain: scientists have proven that couch marathons are more dangerous than sedentary work (photo)
Scientists have finally found scientific confirmation of what every grandmother suspected, but now it sounds much more frightening. A multi-year study of nearly two thousand people has shown that regular television viewing in middle age literally shrinks the brain. MRI scans of heavy TV watchers revealed deterioration of the areas responsible for memory, vision, and planning, while prolonged office work at a computer somehow didn't produce such a devastating effect. Apparently, it's all down to the absolute passivity of the process, when the brain doesn't just rest, but completely shuts down while watching yet another questionable show. ![]()
