It looks like Shanghai residents have to get used to their unusual neighbors: the city has officially been invaded by characters from Bikini Bottom. A large-scale art exhibition called "Bikini Bottom Buddies" has taken over several city spaces, transforming busy areas into sets from the cult animated series. Now, while out running errands, Shanghai residents might unexpectedly encounter SpongeBob and his pals, who, it seems, have decided to stick around until the end of summer. This celebration of absurdity and fun will run until August 31st, giving everyone the chance to see for themselves how comfortable these sea-bottom dwellers are on the bustling streets of the metropolis.
