Small Toys for Adults. Ships. Part 2 (13 photos)
HMS Wellesley
This 74-gun ship of the line was built in Bombay and launched in February 1815. The first half of the 19th century was the period of the highest design and aesthetic perfection of wooden sailing ships. The simplicity and elegance of the Empire style lends ships of this period a special nobility. This model evokes the spirit of the naval battles of the Napoleonic Wars. It will delight fans of the cult film "Master and Commander." This model will be a focal point of any classic-style interior. It was built using the same technology as a real 18th-century ship. Natural materials were used: pear wood, ebony, and boxwood rigging blocks and deadeyes. The hull, like the real one, consists of a keel and frames, and the bottom of the hull is made of imitation copper sheathing.
