Amazing hanging restaurant in China (13 photos)
The extraordinary Fangweng Restaurant is located near the Cave of the Three Travelers in China's Hubei Province, approximately 12 kilometers north of the city of Yichang. The restaurant is located in the Happy Valley of Xiling Gorge, a series of picturesque cliffs, caves, and parks in the area where the Chang Jiang River flows into the Yangtze. The entrance to the establishment is an unremarkable brick building, but at the far end of a narrow concrete bridge, the restaurant practically hangs several hundred meters above the ground.
From this bridge, restaurant diners can admire the Yangtze River. And for adrenaline junkies, there's a bungee jumping platform.
Entering the restaurant and descending the steps, you'll find yourself in a natural "cave lobby."
To the right is a 30-meter-long plank walkway built along the edge of the cliff.
It leads to another cave, which has been converted into a dining room. This cave is bathed in a soft yellow light.
The Chinese-style furniture blends perfectly with the surrounding landscape. Part of this room protrudes from the cave where the tables are located.
This is a restaurant suspended in the air, offering views of the river below. The restaurant is named after a great poet from the Song Dynasty.
They say he brewed tea in this cave.
