Experts are growing meat in bioreactors from animal cells. According to the creators, the meat tastes just like real meat.
The world's first animal-free farm has opened in the Netherlands. Instead, meat is grown from animal cells in bioreactors.
The animals aren't killed. Their tissue is simply taken and placed in a large tank with controlled temperature, oxygen, and nutrients. There, the cells multiply and form muscle tissue—meat.
According to farmers and tasters, the taste of this meat is indistinguishable from regular beef. Moreover, the technology allows for the regulation of protein, fat, and carbohydrate content.
