Mirrors have been installed along roads to prevent people from urinating in the streets

But it's not just about people getting a chance to admire themselves. Mirrors combat a delicate and unpleasant problem: public urination. The idea is apparently based on the concept of "self-awareness through reflection," and the authorities hope that seeing their own image will make people think twice before committing such acts.

Attitudes toward mirrors vary. Some people welcome the idea, but others consider it pointless. Those who need to urinate will urinate in front of a mirror. Or they'll smash the mirror to avoid seeing themselves. The authorities should consider providing more public restrooms. That would be a much more sensible solution.
