Falcon Heavy is back in action: SpaceX conducted the 12th launch of a super-heavy rocket
SpaceX successfully completed the 12th launch of its Falcon Heavy rocket, sending the ViaSat-3 F3 telecommunications satellite into space. The liftoff took place on April 29 after a two-day delay—the launch had previously been postponed due to adverse weather. The Falcon Heavy's previous mission took place in the fall of 2024, when the rocket launched the Europa Clipper interplanetary probe to Jupiter's moon Europa. Today, the Falcon Heavy is considered one of the most powerful operational rockets in the world, second in payload capacity only to the Space Launch System, developed for NASA's Artemis lunar program.
