Police in Perryville, New Jersey, received a report of a bear on a local highway. Upon arrival, they found a bear cub sitting alone on the side of the road.
Although "bear" was a bit of a strong word, the authorities who arrived saw a small bear cub sitting in a ditch on the side of the road. Naturally, capturing such a "formidable beast" turned out to be no big deal, especially since there were no adult bears in the area.
The police first brought their new acquaintance to the station and then handed him over to the Department of Environmental Protection. It's unclear why the young bear ended up alone, especially in an unsafe location, but now he'll be taken care of and won't be abandoned.
