In the Florida Everglades, invasive species hunters discovered two nests of Burmese pythons containing approximately 120 eggs. Adult snakes and eggs were removed to prevent a mass breeding ground.
Burmese pythons are considered one of the most serious threats to the Everglades ecosystem: they actively reproduce and feed on native wildlife, having no natural predators. Experts warn that each new clutch increases the challenge of infestation control.
