Drone delivery is being tested in the US

This is what Walmart's drone delivery system, currently in test mode, looks like. During delivery, the package is carefully lowered on a rope.

The drones can carry 2-3 kg at a time within a 10 km radius of the hub. The company uses drones from Flytrex and Wing (Alphabet), which can deliver orders in under 30 minutes and lower them to the ground using a rope. The service is already being tested in dozens of stores across the United States.

By 2027, Walmart plans to implement drone delivery at hundreds of locations across the country.
