Did you know that many seals can "sing" in their sleep? Later in this post, you'll hear a snippet of one of their "songs."
Like humans, seals go through sleep phases, including REM sleep, which is associated with dreaming. During this period, animals may experience involuntary movements and sounds.
For example, Weddell seals are capable of producing at least eight different calls, varying greatly in frequency and duration.
This certainly sounds very unusual.
