An Italian cyclist was injured during the women's one-day Milan-San Remo classic race.
The horrific accident occurred on a turn during the descent. Three cyclists collided first, and the rest of the riders immediately overtook them. One by one, they piled up.
Another cyclist, 27-year-old Deborah Silvestri, overshot the barrier while braking and fell.
By the time paramedics arrived, the cyclist was conscious and was taken to the hospital.
