Hollywood action star and martial artist Chuck Norris has died at the age of 86. According to the American publication Variety, Norris died in a hospital in Hawaii.

He was reportedly hospitalized the day before after falling ill during karate training. However, media reports later stated that Norris was conscious and in good spirits, talking to friends on the phone and joking around.

The cause of the legendary actor's death has not been disclosed. TMZ reports that Chuck Norris's family wishes to keep the circumstances of his death private.

"It is with deep sorrow that our family announces the sudden passing of our beloved Chuck Norris. We wish to keep the circumstances private, but please know that he was surrounded by the care and love of his loved ones," the family said in a statement.



Chuck Norris gained widespread recognition for his roles in 1980s action films. In the 1990s, he starred in the popular series Walker, Texas Ranger, where he played the lead role of Ranger Cordell Walker. It's worth noting that in 2010, he became a Texas Ranger.

Norris's final role came in 2012 in The Expendables 2, which starred many tough guys from the golden age of American action films.

The actor held a black belt in several martial arts. In 1989, he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and in 1999, he was inducted into the Martial Arts History Museum Hall of Fame in Burbank, California.

The last video the actor posted featured footage of him training. He captioned the video: "I'm not getting old."
