The United States Department of Justice released surveillance footage capturing the brazen robbery in exquisite detail.
The scene resembled an action movie: twenty black-masked criminals, armed with hammers, burst into the premises and wreaked havoc. They smashed display cases and filled backpacks with jewelry, estimated to be worth $1.7 million.
The criminals managed to steal approximately 80 percent of the merchandise before fleeing the scene in cars. Law enforcement has so far apprehended only four of the twenty robbers.
