Enormous Percheron impresses with its size (1 photo + 3 videos)
The video shows an impressive Percheron horse, a renowned French heavy draft horse. These horses can reach over 180 cm at the withers, and their powerful build and thick mane make them true kings of the stable.
The uniqueness of these horses lies in their crossbreeding of the elegant Arabian breed with local heavy draft horses. The Percheron is a horse characterized by tremendous strength and subtle grace. The conformation of Percherons is typical of large heavy draft horses. Their heads are typically large, broad-browed, and dry, with clear, expressive eyes, a medium-length neck, and a well-defined poll. The withers are long and medium in height, the back is not long, sometimes soft, the loin is level, the croup is long, forked, slightly sloping, and well-muscled. The shoulder blade is long and sloping, the chest is wide and deep, with excellent, well-rounded ribs. The limbs are medium in length, lean, with well-developed joints and tendons. The constitution is lean and strong.
Modern domestic Percherons are distinguished by their good working qualities, endurance, and agility. The breed's advantages include a beautiful and harmonious form, unique to any other draft horse breed, as well as a smart gray coat, inherited from their distant Arabian ancestors.
Horses of this breed are calm, unflappable, and patient – they can be gentle with inexperienced riders. However, they are also intelligent and learn quickly. Moreover, Percherons often treat many lessons as a game. They enjoy working under saddle, jumping short jumps, and learning dressage.
