"The Fifth Element" - starring Bruce Willis, Milla Jovovich and Gary Oldman. The film was a hit with audiences and is constantly being rewatched.

Milla Jovovich as Leeloo

Milla Jovovich appeared in The Fifth Element six years after starring in Return to the Blue Lagoon. Milla wasn't the only candidate, however – Luc Besson considered numerous other actresses for the role of Lilu, including Julia Roberts. However, the job ultimately went to Milla and became her breakthrough, landing her a role in Resident Evil five years later, which would define her career. Jovovich subsequently focused her career on action films, appearing not only in several Resident Evil installments but also in Monster Hunter, Into the Lost Lands, and Hellboy.

Gary Oldman – Jean-Baptiste Emmanuel Sorg

Jean-Baptiste was played by the master of transformation, Gary Oldman, whose films have been seen by hundreds of millions of people around the world, and not all of them knew that Oldman was playing certain roles, because he always somehow turns out to be completely unrecognizable. This was the case in "The Fifth Element," "Dracula," "Harry Potter," and many other films. Gary is also known for "Leon," "Darkest Hour," "The Dark Knight," and "The Book of Eli."

Chris Tucker – Ruby Rhod

In 1995, Chris Tucker starred in the comedy film "Friday," and just two years later, in "The Fifth Element." Chris performed so brilliantly that, thanks in part to this film, he landed one of the lead roles in "Rush Hour" with Jackie Chan. Tucker later appeared in Silver Linings Playbook, Air: The Big Jump, and the Rush Hour sequels, but he never quite managed to surpass the peak of his '90s career.

Maiwenn Le Besco – Diva Plavalaguna

Although Diva Plavalaguna was played by Maïwenn Le Besco, her voice was provided by opera singer Inva Mula. Interestingly, when Inva saw the notes, she told Luc Besson they were impossible to repeat. He understood this, so he immediately explained to her that they would record all the notes separately, which would then be combined into a seamless performance in the editing room. As for Maïwenn Le Besco, she had to endure hours in the makeup chair every day, but it was worth it, because Diva significantly advanced her career. Le Besco then starred in the films "Police," "My King," "DNA," and "Excuse Me," for which she was nominated for numerous awards.

Indra Ové – Flight Attendant

Indra Ové played one of the flight attendants, but, unlike many other supporting and bit parts, she is not a French actress, but a British one. She made her film debut in Interview with the Vampire, in which she played a small role. In recent years, many of her works have been short films. Her best-known roles include a First Order officer in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and Mrs. Black in the first Resident Evil film.

Stacy Mackenzie – Flight Attendant

The second flight attendant role went to Canadian model Stacy Mackenzie, who has only two film credits to her credit: in addition to The Fifth Element, she also starred in Chinese Portrait with Helena Bonham Carter. After Stacy's golden age as a model ended, she transitioned to television, where she became a judge on various shows.

Bruce Willis – Korben Dallas

Bruce Willis was the most famous actor in the entire cast of "The Fifth Element." Before this film, he had starred in "Die Hard," "Pulp Fiction," and "Twelve Monkeys." He then cemented his success with "Armageddon," "The Sixth Sense," "Unbreakable," and several other films in the "Die Hard" series. Over time, however, Willis's popularity began to wane. He remained one of Hollywood's most sought-after actors, but he chose quantity over quality, resulting in several action films appearing in a single year, most often failing to gain traction with audiences. It was later revealed, however, that Bruce chose this path because he was developing dementia and wanted to earn as much money as possible before retiring early.

Sophie Goth – Flight Attendant at Check-in

The most prominent flight attendant in The Fifth Element was Sophie Goth, who, like Stacey McKenzie, was a model and even achieved considerable success in her field. Although she was quite popular, The Fifth Element did not launch her acting career. After this film, Sophie never appeared in any other roles and soon retired from modeling. Instead, Goth worked for a long time as a massage therapist, then took up yoga and became an instructor.

Mathieu Kassovitz – Robber

Mathieu Kassovitz is a fairly popular actor in France, whose name is associated with such well-known films as "Hate," "Amélie," and "The Crimson Rivers." In "The Fifth Element," he played a hapless robber who managed to outsmart the main character, but ended up losing everything. Besides acting, he is also known as a director, having directed "The Crimson Rivers," "Hate," "Gothika," and "Babylon A.D."

Ian Holm – Vito Cornelius

Ian Holm is best known for his role in Alien, in which he starred alongside Sigourney Weaver. Although Ian passed away in 2020, his likeness appeared in Alien: Romulus in 2024. After The Fifth Element, Holm starred in The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, and 11 years later, he returned to the role of the hobbit in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Adventure. In between, he starred in The Day After Tomorrow, Chariots of Fire, and From Hell.

Jerome Blake – Mondoshawan

One of the Mondoshawans in the film was played by French actor Jerome Blake, whose credits include "The Doll," "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy," and the second Star Wars trilogy. In the trilogy, Jerome played six different roles, including Rune Haako, Mas Amedda, and the Jedi Oppo Rancisis—all of which required Jerome to undergo an exhaustive makeup process.

Charlie Creed-Miles – David

Young David, Vito Cornelius' assistant, was played by Charlie Creed-Miles, who began his acting career ten years before the release of The Fifth Element. Charlie never became a wildly famous actor, but during his time in film, he managed to appear in films such as Wild Bill, No Swallow, Harry Brown, The Departed, The Hundred Streets, and others.

Alan Ruscoe – Mangalore

The role of a Mangalore in The Fifth Element was one of Alan Ruscoe's first, and shortly afterward, he played three different characters in The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones: Plo Koon, Rune Haako, and Daultay Dofine. Although his filmography includes only 11 films, he continues to appear in films, albeit very rarely. His most recent film was Last Night in Soho.

Vladimir McCrary – Mangalore Aknot

Vladimir McCrary delighted his few fans with the role of Mangalore Aknot. It was one of his few roles. In addition to The Fifth Element, Vladimir starred in Predator 2, Yellow Journal, and Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles. McCrary's film career didn't go particularly well, but he had a more successful career in modeling.
