American startup Pickle has started taking pre-orders for its smart glasses with in-lens displays.
They look good. For $799, they have built-in AI with context memory: they remember what you see and hear, and over time, they begin to help you without direct commands—reminding you, prompting you, and planning. They weigh about 68g, and have a battery life of up to 24 hours. Shipments are scheduled for Q2 2026.
We're also expecting glasses from a collaboration between Google and Gentle Monster this year. I really want to use them, but I have a feeling my dreams will be dashed by internet restrictions in our country. The Oculus Quest 3 VR headset, the banned Meta, which I got for New Year's, is almost impossible to use.
