Office dream come true: a homing bucket From Chinese engineers
Chinese engineers from HTX Studio have solved the perennial problem of office trash with a radical solution. They simply created a smart trash can that rolls up and catches discarded trash mid-flight.
Unveiled in July 2025, the project became a viral hit thanks to a video showing a wheeled trash can with a camera and artificial intelligence perfectly positioning itself under a flying paper or bottle, preventing anything from falling.
The device is equipped with powerful motors, a camera for tracking objects, and a machine learning model that calculates the trajectory. The team built not just one trash can, but a whole series: from a basic trap to versions with a lid that "trash talks" (mocks missed objects), washes the floor, and even fires soft darts as punishment for littering the floor. All the trash cans are controlled by a single remote control and can march in formation.
To ensure complete autonomy, the engineers added a charging station and a "mega-bucket" that automatically changes bags in small bins at night along LED tracks on the floor. This isn't a commercial product, but a creative project for social media, but it solves the problem of lazy colleagues with humor and high technology.
Admit it, you definitely wouldn't mind having a bucket like that.
