On Monday, December 22, the cash registers and computers stopped working at a supermarket in Burleson. After a while, a manager (or, according to other sources, the director) came out to greet customers, wished them a Merry Christmas, and gave them a generous gift.
People who filled their carts and baskets with items were allowed to pay for them. The only rule was that they were not allowed to return to the sales floor for additional items.
