In China, a Man Found 18 kg of Hazelnuts Under the Hood of a Car
A resident of the Chinese city of Jixi discovered an unusual cause for his car's malfunction. After months of strange rattling noises under the hood and a malfunctioning heating system, the driver finally decided to look under the hood.
There, he found a stash of hazelnuts. There were so many that they even ended up in the cabin air filter. Removing them took over two hours. The man said the car was garaged almost all the time, so he ruled out squirrels.
After inspecting the garage, he discovered that more than half of the bag of hazelnuts he kept in the garage was gone. This led him to conclude that the nuts had been carried by rats, who had used the car as their makeshift storage facility.
Now the SUV owner plans to install traps to prevent further infestations and protect the car from similar "deliveries" of supplies in the future.
