Why don't people help baby turtles reach the water? After all, they face so many dangers along the way. In fact, such intervention is even prohibited: their independent journey is a natural hardening process that helps them survive. They memorize the magnetic field, the texture of the sand, and the angle of the sun's rays. Decades later, when they grow up and are ready to lay eggs, they will have to swim thousands of kilometers back to this very beach. And if humans help them, they will miss out on that experience and never know where their home is.
