The Shenzhou-20 and Shenzhou-21 crews cooked food for the first time on the Tiangong station using an oven. It took 28 minutes to cook wings and a steak. A video of the dinner quickly went viral on Chinese social media, demonstrating that even in orbit, it's possible to prepare a full meal.
The oven's development is part of a program to improve crew living conditions during long-duration missions. The new device provides strong, uniform heat and completely eliminates smoke. The oven was developed based on the experience of ISS astronauts, who discovered that baking cookies in orbit takes longer. Currently, the taikonauts' diet includes over 190 different dishes.
