Near Nieuwleuzin, in the province of Overijssel, a wind turbine caught fire at a height of approximately 140 meters—so high that rescuers could only watch the flames.
The flames were visible from afar: dozens of people gathered to watch the enormous turbine burn in the darkness, while molten pieces of metal and plastic fell onto the meadows like fiery snowflakes.
