Driver miraculously survived after falling into a chasm (5 photos)
In Colorado, a driver miraculously survived after his pickup truck plunged 300 feet. Witnesses noticed the truck veering off a dangerous stretch of road known for its steep drops and curves. Emergency services were called to the scene.
The pickup truck fell dozens of meters into the Uncompahgre River Gorge and landed upside down.
According to rescuers, the driver suffered only minor injuries.
The mangled car is almost unrecognizable in the photos.
The Million Dollar Highway is a scenic but dangerous route through the San Juan Mountains. The road is known for its sharp turns and lack of guardrails.
On August 5th, a car plunged off Red Mountain Pass on the same road, killing two people.
According to the Colorado State Patrol, the investigation into both accidents is ongoing.
The mountain rescue team warned drivers to exercise extreme caution, especially as winter approaches.
A spokesperson explained: "Conditions can change rapidly. What seems like a scenic journey can become dangerous in just a few minutes."
