Photos posted on Reddit show a Ford Everest prototype undergoing testing in Dillon, Colorado. The vehicle had production numbers and testing equipment, indicating it was involved in the development. Colorado, with its high mountains and variable weather conditions, is often used by automakers to test endurance and emissions.

The Ford Everest is a frame SUV built on the platform of the global Ford Ranger. It is offered in the Asia-Pacific, Middle East, Africa and Latin American markets, but has never been officially delivered to the United States. The model has a three-row interior layout and is available with diesel or gasoline engines, rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.

The spotted prototype was white with a shortened bumper for off-road use and black alloy wheels shod with heavy-duty tires similar to those mounted on the Ranger Tremor. The interior featured leather seats with contrast stitching and Platinum badging, indicating a higher level of equipment.
Possibility of a US launch
While the Ford Everest could compete with the Toyota 4Runner in the US market, its launch in the US is unlikely. Ford already has the Bronco, which occupies a similar niche and is built on a similar frame platform. In addition, importing the Everest from Thailand would incur high customs duties, and adapting to US safety and environmental standards would require significant changes. 
History and markets
The first generation Everest was introduced in 2003, the second in 2015, and the current model debuted in 2022. The car is manufactured in Thailand and is sold in Southeast Asia, Oceania, South Africa, South America, and the Middle East. The most powerful version, the Everest Tremor, is equipped with a 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 and improved suspension. 
The appearance of prototypes in Colorado and Michigan has caused a wave of discussion among enthusiasts, but it is likely part of a global testing program, not preparation for a launch in the US. Ford is focused on developing models that are already present in the American market, such as the Bronco, which allows it to avoid additional costs and bureaucratic obstacles.
