In Chiang Mai, Thailand, a pickup truck crashed into a power pole, causing 52 power poles to fall in a domino effect, crushing numerous houses and cars along the road. Details below. 
Damaged:
- 47 high-voltage power poles;
- 5 low-voltage power poles;
- 7 transformers;
- 34 electricity meters;
- 20 houses;
- 6 cars;
- Three districts were left without power.
This was all the fault of "35-year-old Songchai, who was suffering from suffocation," and who was driving the car carrying bottled water. His 27-year-old passenger died in the hospital a couple of hours later.
Local journalists estimated the cost of restoring one pole at 500,000 baht.
