A 42-year-old mother of seven has found love where she least expected — with her son’s 17-year-old friend. She has ignored the 25-year age gap and the social media backlash.





Amy Sparks didn’t believe she would find true love for a long time, until an unexpected confession changed her life forever. The 42-year-old woman from the UK has married Bryce, her son’s former best friend, who is a quarter of a century younger than her, The Sun reports.

Their relationship began five years ago, when Amy's son, Aydin, introduced his mother to his 17-year-old friend. Despite the significant age difference, a special relationship gradually developed between the woman and the young man.



First confession

The turning point came on the eve of Bryce's 18th birthday, when he decided to open up about his feelings.

"I was at home in bed when he texted me on Snapchat: 'I bet you didn't know, but I'm in love with you.' I was pleased, but I thought of him as a child, because he was my son's friend. I said that it was flattering, but he was too young for me," recalls Amy, who works as a security guard.

At first, the woman categorically rejected the young man's advances due to the large age difference. However, for two years, Bryce did not give up trying to win her heart. Finally, in February 2022, something happened that radically changed her attitude.





"I saw Bryce with another girl. When they kissed, I had this weird feeling. Suddenly, I realized I was in love with my son's 20-year-old best friend! I was looking for someone kind and loyal who would make me feel like a teenager again. I wondered if I was rejecting a wonderful person just because of the age difference," the woman says.

After plucking up her courage, Amy called Bryce and said, "I know you had feelings for me a few years ago, and I'm not sure if you still feel the same way..." Bryce interrupted and said that he would drop everything for her.



Son's Blessing

Before starting a relationship, Amy decided to talk to her son. At first, Aydin reacted negatively, calling it "too weird," but later changed his mind. The couple's first date took place in the company of Aydin, who was even present during their first kiss.

Three months into their relationship, the couple moved in together, and got married the following year. Their unusual union predictably caused a mixed reaction from others. Now the couple lives under the same roof with Amy's son. The woman's other children also approve of her choice. The couple got married in October 2023.

Bryce admitted that he appreciates his partner's maturity: "I'm quite happy with the lack of children. I understand that children are a lot of stress. Amy doesn't make illogical decisions, like a younger person would. She's more mature."

Amy, in turn, is amazed by the maturity of her chosen one, despite his young age. "He's wise for his age - he's an old soul. Not at all like other 22-year-olds," she summed up.
