A mother tied her mentally retarded son to herself with a rope and goes to work with him (2 photos + 1 video)

A cleaning lady in Shaanxi Province has come under the spotlight after footage of her working with her mentally disabled son tied to her wrist went viral on social media. The woman's identity has not been revealed, but a family friend surnamed Wang said the mother is in her 50s and her son is in his 30s.





Because she can't leave him at home unattended, she has to take him with her to work. The rope, she says, helps prevent accidents where her son might run into the road or run into pedestrians.



After the resonance on social networks, bloggers began to come to the woman en masse to shoot a video with her. This led to stress for the Chinese woman, and, as reported by the city administration, the woman applied for a transfer to another position.

The administration added that the cleaner never asked for donations and remains an ordinary rank-and-file employee. Her family receives assistance from the company in the form of rice, oil and extra pay in hot weather - about $3.50 per day.
