Student's breasts increased by 750 grams monthly (4 photos + 1 video)
Taynara Marcondes only realized how big her breasts had become when her aunt pointed it out. “People would look at me strangely on the street and point their fingers. One day I went into a supermarket and the workers thought I was stealing food and hiding it under my clothes. That’s when I started to worry,” says the 22-year-old Brazilian.
It turned out that her breasts were growing by 750 grams a month due to a rare condition that only 300 women in the world suffer from.
When people started looking at her and pointing, the teacher education student decided to seek help.
"I couldn't wear a bra anymore. I put all my clothes in a bag because they were too small," she told local outlet G1.
"One day I tried on eight shirts and none of them fit. I got mad. I want to wear bikinis and run and do other normal things."
She was in so much pain that she had trouble doing her daily activities.
She went to several doctors. One of them suggested cancer, but the diagnosis was not confirmed. It turned out that she had gigantomastia.

Gigantomastia, or hypertrophy of the mammary glands, is a rare non-cancerous disease. It is characterized by the growth of mammary glands. The causes of this phenomenon are not fully understood. It can be associated with pregnancy, puberty, taking certain medications and autoimmune diseases, such as Hashimoto's thyroiditis and psoriasis. Only 300 cases have been diagnosed in history.
Symptoms may include shoulder pain, infection, redness, itching, breast pain, poor posture, and loss of nipple sensation.
The breast reduction surgery lasted 10 hours, removing 10 kg of tissue. The procedure cost the girl R$40,000.
Tainara won't be able to breastfeed now, and her sensitivity has also decreased, but she's looking forward to putting on a bikini and going to the beach.
