I couldn't stand it anymore: a Brazilian woman had her breasts cut off after they grew to gigantic sizes (5 photos + 4 videos)
The 22-year-old student suffered from gigantomastia, a condition in which the mammary glands become so large that they cause a lot of suffering to the woman.
A Brazilian student of the Faculty of Education, Tainara Marcondes, suffered from excessive growth of mammary gland tissue. Her breasts became so huge that they weighed about 12 kilograms.
At the same time, the girl's weight is about 60 kg. Of course, with such a "backpack" ahead, the student's life was not cloudless.
Not only were men staring at her on the street, and some were making indecent comments, but also doing everyday things turned into a real burden.
Tainara works part-time as a teacher's assistant in a kindergarten, and because of her large breasts, it was difficult and even impossible for her to hold the babies on her lap.
The causes of gigantomastia - this is the diagnosis Tainara was given - are still completely unknown. Some researchers are inclined to believe that the mammary glands begin to grow due to hormonal problems and disruptions caused by puberty or pregnancy. In some cases, gigantomastia has been observed after patients with rheumatoid arthritis were treated with drugs that alter the level of circulating prolactin in the blood (D-penicillamine, cyclosporine, and bucillamine). Breast tissue growth can also be caused by an infectious lesion.
It is not known which case Marcondes is involved in, but the girl decided to have her breasts reduced and began collecting money for the operation through donations. She managed to collect about 40,000 reais, and soon Taynara underwent surgery. The surgeons worked on the girl for several hours, removing about 10 kilograms of breast tissue.
Marcondes Then and Now
Now Marcondes has neat small breasts, which she is extremely happy about, and never tires of comparing herself before and after the operation.
And although there is a high probability that in the future the girl will not be able to feed a baby, and the sensitivity of the mammary gland will remain in question, she does not regret anything.
